STARRING

Secondary Dominance

Secondary Dominance is ISU’s premier all-treble a cappella group. Since established in 2004, SD has been delighting audiences with their instrument-free performances on campus and around the Bloomington-Normal community. We perform a range of music – anything from pop to R&B to Broadway – and we arrange the majority of it ourselves! Our mission is to produce beautiful music while pushing the boundaries of all-treble a cappella. We welcome alum Desiré De Los Santos back to Unity High School!

UHS Surreal Sound

Surreal Sound is the one and only co-ed, completely student-run a cappella group of Unity High School in Tolono. This 17 member group, directed by senior Joe Tempel, enjoys performing everything from classic Christmas tunes to modern pop hits. Throughout the year, they can be seen at Unity’s Fall Showcase, ciLiving, and other various places around the community. Surreal Sound sends a special thanks to Unity Music Boosters for inviting them to perform at their biggest event of the year, All Out A Cappella. We hope you enjoy the show!

ISU Acafellaz

We are the Acafellaz — Illinois State University’s premier all-male a cappella ensemble. Founded in 1999, we are a group of 14 members who share a passion for music and competition. We welcome alum Dean Niswonger back to Unity High School!

ISU Clef Hangers

Clef Hangers is the first mixed vocal a cappella group at Illinois State University founded in August 2008 by a small group of ambitious students who shared a passion for a cappella music. Since its formation, the group has lost and gained various members, each of whom has helped make the group what it is today.

No Comment is a 14-member, all-gender a cappella group hailing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This group of best friends share a passion for not just music, but for creating with one another. NoCo has been wowing audiences for two decades with 7 ICCA Semifinals appearances and several studio albums, they have no intention of slowing down. With new projects and releases on the horizon, NoCo is sure to leave you wanting more!

Rip Chords

The Illinois Rip Chords are the only treble a cappella group that competes at the University of Illinois. Founded in 1992 as a small ensemble of five, we’ve since grown to about fifteen members, expanding both our vocal range and quality. We perform a diverse repertoire, covering artists such as Carrie Underwood, Fleetwood Mac, Sara Bareilles, and Stevie Wonder. More recently, we’ve embraced a modern sound with selections from Olivia Rodrigo, Reneé Rapp, Yebba, and Dua Lipa. Known for our powerhouse vocals, creative choreography, and tight harmonies, the Rip Chords perform at fall and spring concerts and compete annually in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA).

Xtension Chords

The Xtension Chords are the premier competitive all-bass voice group at the University of Illinois. Since their founding in 1992, the Xtension Chords have enjoyed sharing their love for music and performance with the Urbana-Champaign community and throughout the rest of the midwest. Involved in both concert and competitive performance, this group of strapping young gentlemen is devoted to tight harmonies, clean choreography, and timely comedy. The Xtension Chords have released ten studio albums throughout their long history, and recently released a new single “G Train,” which is now available on Spotify. Additionally, the X Chords were awarded third place at the 2025 ICCA Great Lakes Quarterfinal #2 earlier this month.
