Polly Anderson Memorial Scholarships (Senior Scholarships)

The Unity Music Boosters present the Polly Anderson Memorial Scholarship each year to two deserving high school Seniors.  Elvamae (Herriott) “Polly” Anderson taught music at Winnebago and Monmouth schools before coming to Unit 7 in 1953.   She taught music here for 28 years.   Mrs. Anderson began the spring musicals at Unity High School, a tradition that continues today.  In 2013, Unit 7 Schools honored her by naming the high school auditorium The Polly Anderson Auditorium and we continue to honor her today with this scholarship in her name.  This scholarship is given to Unity seniors who are continuing their education at a 2-4 year college or university.  The students must have at GPA of 2.5 or higher and must have participated in a music program at Unity High School.  The recipients who are named at the Senior Honors Night each earn a $500 scholarship.
